Payment processor Visa announced Saturday its plans to separately categorize gun shop sales, joining Mastercard and American Express, which have already said they would categorize purchases at firearm stores.
Banks such as Morgan Stanley, or even a credit card company such as American Express, would be more impacted because their business models are heavily weighed toward fee income.
It’s not the first time merchants have voiced opposition to AmEx’s business practices by walking away, most notably the warehouse chain Costco nearly a decade ago.
As The Post reported, the now-bankrupt Joonko falsely claimed that several major firms, including American Express, PayPal, Accenture and Atlassian, were customers of its platform.
